What a stay at Ka Laʻi Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts is like
Ka La‘i Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts is a five-star option for travelers who want Waikiki access with more residential space than a conventional resort room. Studios pair substantial marble bathrooms with kitchenettes, while larger suites add separate living areas, full kitchens and in-room laundry. The hotel is not directly on the sand, but Waikiki Beach, shopping and a broad choice of restaurants are nearby. Its completed property-wide transformation introduced refreshed accommodations, an infinity pool, Spa Ka La‘i and several dining and lounge venues.
Who it may suit
This hotel is especially well suited to couples wanting a polished Waikiki base, families who value kitchen facilities and sofa beds, and longer-stay travelers who can use a washer and dryer in a suite. Multi-bedroom categories provide a practical alternative to reserving several separate rooms. It may be less appealing if you want a resort directly on the beach, inexpensive parking or a simple room without extensive residential features.
Location and trip fit
The Saratoga Road setting places you near the western side of central Waikiki, convenient for the beach, Waikiki Beach Walk and the district’s shopping and dining. It offers a slightly removed base compared with properties directly on busy Kalakaua Avenue, while keeping the main visitor area accessible. For ocean scenery, read the category carefully: city, partial-ocean, ocean-view and oceanfront labels represent meaningful differences, and many supplied categories are on lower levels.

Rooms at Ka Laʻi Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts
Room names can hide meaningful differences in views, bed layouts, occupancy, and included extras. Use these sections as a starting point, then verify the exact room description for your dates.
Superior king rooms for shorter stays
The supplied Superior city-view and partial-ocean categories are the most compact choices, at about 37 square meters. They suit one or two travelers who want a king bed, soaking-tub bathroom and basic food-preparation facilities without paying for a separate living room. Most, rather than every, Superior room is described as having a kitchenette, so confirm this feature if you plan to cook.
Deluxe studios with flexible bed and view choices
Deluxe rooms expand to roughly 46–51 square meters and come in city, partial-ocean and ocean-view versions. Choose between two double beds or a king with a sofa bed according to how your party prefers to sleep. Kitchenettes generally include a two-burner cooktop, microwave and compact refrigerator, while private lanais and separate soaking tubs and showers make these rooms practical for families who do not need a full suite.
One-bedroom suites for privacy and longer stays
The Deluxe one-bedroom city-view and partial-ocean suites separate the king bedroom from a living area with a sofa bed. Full kitchens, washer-dryers and larger bathrooms make these a stronger fit for families, extended stays or couples who want a proper living room. The city-view suite is listed slightly larger, while the partial-ocean version trades some space for a glimpse of the Pacific.
One-bedroom suites with a den
Den layouts add another flexible room alongside the king bedroom and main living area. Premium versions offer partial or broader ocean views, full kitchens, wine refrigerators, laundry and multiple sofa beds. They can work well when children need a separate sleeping zone, but verify the exact bed setup and maximum occupancy because sofa-bed arrangements differ by category.
Mobility-accessible one-bedroom suite
The supplied mobility-accessible ocean-view suite includes a roll-in shower, visual alert systems, a full kitchen, washer-dryer, den and sofa-bed space. Its listing warns that photographs may not show the precise accessible configuration. Confirm required clearances, bathroom fixtures, bed height and the accessible route directly with the property before booking.
Two-bedroom suites for families and groups
The two-bedroom selection ranges from layouts with a king and queen to larger configurations with two king bedrooms, a den and additional sofa beds. Full kitchens, laundry, dining and living space make these the most practical categories for groups that want to gather privately. Compare floor level, view label, bedroom beds and occupancy rather than choosing on suite name alone; supplied variants differ significantly.
Three-bedroom oceanfront suite for larger parties
The supplied three-bedroom oceanfront suite is the largest listed option, with a king bedroom, two queen bedrooms, a living room, dining area, full kitchen, laundry and panoramic views from a private lanai. It is designed for parties needing three genuine bedrooms, although you should verify the complete bedding configuration because the summarized bed field does not capture every bed described in the room details.
Ka Laʻi Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts amenities and practical features
Infinity pool and family-friendly water features
The redesigned outdoor infinity-edge lap pool is paired with a heated whirlpool and shallow wading areas. That combination supports both lap time and relaxed family use, although the pool should not be mistaken for a large water-play complex.
Spa and 24-hour fitness center
Spa Ka La‘i offers massages, facials and body treatments influenced by Hawaiian ingredients and techniques. The spa currently publishes limited weekly operating days, so book around your itinerary. The fitness center is open 24 hours and includes cardio, strength and stretching areas.
Dining from breakfast through evening
Bloom serves breakfast, The Kini Room covers lunch and dinner, and Muse Lounge focuses on cocktails and light bites. Poolside dining and room service add convenience when you do not want to leave the property. Published hours and menus are time-sensitive, so recheck them for your stay.
Connectivity and work facilities
The hotel identifies WiFi as free and provides a business center, meeting rooms and in-room work-friendly residential layouts. A one-bedroom suite can be particularly useful when one traveler needs to work without occupying the sleeping area.
Families, pets and accessibility

An accessible suite with a roll-in shower and visual alerts is supplied, and the broader amenity list includes grab rails and accessible parking. Availability, pet conditions, childcare arrangements and accessible-room details should be confirmed before arrival.

What guests say about Ka Laʻi Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts
458 reviews
Review takeaway
The supplied 458-review profile scores the hotel 9.5 overall, with service and cleanliness emerging as its clearest strengths. Guests in the sample repeatedly praise warm, responsive staff, comfortable rooms, kitchen facilities, ocean views and thoughtful help with celebrations or late departures. Spring 2026 reviews also describe construction noise, temporary restaurant or pool disruption, elevator inconvenience and disappointment with breakfast value. More recent July 2026 feedback says the renovation was finished and operations were running smoothly, which is consistent with the hotel’s current description of its transformation as complete. Remaining criticism focuses more on restaurant-menu variety, benefit communication and isolated room noise than on the core accommodations. Upgrades, late checkout and celebration amenities mentioned by guests were discretionary experiences, not standard entitlements.
Common positives
- Staff service is the most consistent positive theme.
- Rooms are frequently described as clean, comfortable and spacious.
- Kitchenettes, full kitchens and suite laundry add practical value.
- Ocean-view upgrades and celebration gestures created memorable stays for some guests.
- The location balances Waikiki access with a comparatively peaceful atmosphere.
- Recent feedback indicates the major renovation work has concluded.
Points to weigh
- Earlier 2026 stays were affected by remodeling, construction noise and temporary facility closures.
- Breakfast pricing and added charges concerned some guests.
- Some guests wanted broader or more distinctive restaurant menus.
- A few reviews mention unclear loyalty or card-program benefit expectations.
- Isolated complaints include an ice-maker disturbance and elevator-related inconvenience.
- Ocean-view expectations can vary, especially in partial-ocean categories.
Liked: Excellent hotel accommodations, and the staff was amazing! Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The location is perfect, close to everything while still feeling peaceful. I can’t wait to stay here again!
Liked: currently staying at the hotel at time of writing this review. the hotel has finished the renovation. operation seem to be smooth. bell desk, front desk and housekeeping staff are excellent as expected. some minor work on elevator. lobby is now on 5th floor. the only should have changed is the food menu. there are two restaurants compare to only one in March 2026. both have similar menu. highly suggest to refresh these menu as lack of innovation and creative. there are a significant asian based clients, but there are lack of food items. there used to be lobster ramen, sadly no longer on the menu. the menu currently lacking soup based item such as Pho, ramen, noodles, soondobu. hotel manager should consider adding these items to the menu. everything else seem to be great and in order.
Liked: Disappointing due to unclear communication. We booked back-to-back nights through two separate Amex Platinum FHR accounts, one mine, one my husband’s. At check-in, we were told the second night wouldn’t receive the $100 FHR credit because we were the same family. This wasn’t clear ahead of time, and having already traveled, we couldn’t adjust plans. The lack of clarity was frustrating. I’d simply encourage future guests to confirm all FHR and loyalty benefits directly with the hotel in advance.
Liked: This is our second stay at Ka La’i LXR Waikiki Beach Hotel. On both stays, we used the hotel as a stopover after spending time at a resort on one of the other islands (this time Maui). On this particular trip, we had a lot of laundry we needed to clean coming off our stay in Maui. My wife booked the Ka La’i room with a Hilton free night certificates, which is limited to standard rooms. Prior to our arrival she communicated with a wonderful front desk representative named Alex and she explained our situation and asked for consideration for a complimentary room upgrade to a suite that includes a washer. Alex graciously agreed to our request and the room was amazing; blessed with amazing views of Waikiki Beach. We are seasoned travelers and we knew that our chances of an upgrade were more likely because it was during a weekday not a weekend; for a short amount of time (just 2 nights) and following a holiday rush (shortly after the 4th of July). Nevertheless, Alex could have simply given us an upgrade room with a view and kept it moving. But instead he saw that the room we requested was available and would not disadvantage the hotel, which understandably must prioritize cash bookings over reward redemptions. Alex’s generosity was reflected in everyone we encountered at the hotel, from the wait staff in the newly opened fine dining restaurant; the staff at downtown concierge desk; the porters and even the cleaning staff which ensured we were fully restocked of all items such detergents and teas/coffees for each day of our stay. We will make this hotel part of our regular planning on any future trips to Hawaii. We know that an upgrade like the one we recently received is never promised nor expected, but the courtesy to even consider it goes a long way in establishing loyalty in customers like my wife and I. We strongly recommend this property on your next stay in Waikiki Beach.
Liked: I booked this hotel for a birthday trip and I’m glad I did! The hotel is clean, the staff is very friendly and responsive. And my view was AMAZING! And for those of you who need a fitness center when traveling, the one here definitely served its purpose! There are treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a Peleton bike, dumbbells, and other machines that help you get a full workout (it did for me, at least). They even provide fruit for a post workout snack. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. My room had a kitchenette. There wasn’t an iron, BUT, there was a steamer and it got the job done.I didn’t eat at the restaurant, so I can’t give an opinion on it.They surprised me with a birthday treat! It was such a detailed gesture! The beach is just across the street; shopping and dining are all close by. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. I had a very pleasant experience! I recommend it and I would stay here again!
Liked: The Upgrade
Liked: My wife and I recently stayed at Ka La‘i Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts while celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary, and our son joined us as we celebrated his 21st birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth, hospitality, and aloha spirit. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Director Hiroshi, Supervisor Cathy, Front Desk Representative Doug, and the entire Ka La‘i team for making our stay so memorable. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade and thoughtful amenities from the resort to help celebrate our special occasions. After our first night, we experienced an unfortunate issue that temporarily affected our stay. However, Director Hiroshi personally stepped in and went above and beyond to make things right. His professionalism, compassion, and commitment to guest satisfaction were truly remarkable. He graciously upgraded us to a stunning Two-Bedroom Ocean View Suite, which was absolutely spectacular. The suite offered every comfort and luxury imaginable, with breathtaking views and more amenities than we could have hoped for.To make our departure day even more enjoyable, Hiroshi also arranged a 6:00 PM late checkout, allowing us to spend the morning at the beach and return to our suite afterward to relax, shower, pack, and prepare comfortably for our flight home. This thoughtful gesture made a tremendous difference and perfectly capped off our stay. The level of care, attention, and hospitality demonstrated by Hiroshi, Cathy, Doug, and the entire staff exemplifies what true luxury hospitality should be. They transformed what could have been a disappointing experience into one of the most memorable hotel stays our family has ever enjoyed. We highly recommend Ka La‘i Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts to anyone visiting Oahu. Thank you again to everyone who made our anniversary and our son’s birthday so special. We look forward to returning on our next trip to Waikīkī.Mahalo, Ka La‘i team—we’ll definitely be back! 🌺🌴🏖️
Liked: My experience has been exceptional from start to finish. The front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, valet, concierge, and food & beverage teams have all been incredibly guest-service oriented, professional, and attentive. Everyone consistently created a welcoming atmosphere, making my stay feel peaceful, relaxed, and completely stress-free. Shout out to Nick and JJ for an amazing stay.
Liked: Hotel was nice and clean. We were very impressed with how friendly and accommodating the staff was.
Liked: I was really looking forward to staying at the Ka La'i Waikiki Beach because of the great reviews. The check- in was smooth but as a Hilton Diamond member I was only offered a minimal upgrade. The hotel was not very full and the manager finally agreed to an upgrade to a partial ocean view room which was a building view with a side ocean view which was fine. The room was comfortable but the ice maker kept making ice all night and woke us up. The breakfast buffet was good which included ordering menu items such as a choice of eggs, avocado toast, etc. I thought the food quality was good but not sure it was worth the $50 plus mandatory service charge and taxes. I was really looking forward to using the pool but it was closed due to a recent storm. The main restaurant was also closed due to remodeling and we could also hear construction noises from our room throughout the day. I would not return to the hotel during construction and probably won’t return again because my stay did not match my expectations.
Liked: We loved our stay here. We booked with Amex FHR program. Check in was easy, we were offered a corner 2 bedroom unit for a small up charge and decided to take it since we had our teenager with us. Best decision ever. We were very comfortable. Great location, wonderful staff all around. We were offered a 6pm check out since our flight was at 9. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
Liked: Where do I even begin? A perfect stay from check in to departure. Saori Suzuki warmly welcomed us at check in and informed us that as AMEX FHR members, we were being upgraded! Our room was not ready (we were early) and she said she would call me in one hour. She gave us some places to walk to for lunch and one hour later, we got the call to return to our room...or should I say palace? The most stunning room with a view of Honolulu Harbor and the beach. Two bathrooms both appointed with a gorgeous walk in shower and plenty of fluffy, white towels and handtowels, an office area with sleeper couch and desk, a full kitchen stocked with water, a welcome fruit plate and a bottle of champagne, a gorgeous dining table for 6, a living room with 70 (ish) inch TV, sleeper couch and two chairs, two lanais - one in the living room and one in the bedroom, table for four in one and chaise and chair in the other, full closet area with shelves, hangers, in-room safe and a stacked washer and dryer with soap and dryer sheets. We asked only for a tea kettle and one was sent immediately and it was incredible (we want to buy one now)! The king sized bed was so comfortable and made with crisp white sheets. There is a Toto toilet in the bedroom bathroom and a large soaking tub. Honestly, a stunning room that was cleaned daily - please leave a tip for these amazing people! Speaking of people, Michael and Tiari at the concierge were so kind and helpful. They arranged for some fun activities for us and were just generally lovely every single day. The hotel is finalizing the last of their renovations and truly, there was literally only one minor inconvenience for us (which was absolutely not a big deal) - we had to take the elevator to floor 8 and walk down to 6 for the breakfast which was included in our stay. Another small issue was food temperature at the breakfast buffet. They are serving it in a lovely location that is open air adjacent to the pool. After our second breakfast, I received a text from the hotel asking if there was anything they could do to improve and I noted that the hot items on the buffet were not at a food safe temp. This was rectified the next day. We thoroughly enjoyed the several afternoons we spent at the pool. There were always places for us to find two chaise lounges together and the staff was so attentive. They are so nice to circulate around often with small smoothies and ice cream cups! Yes, there are kids in the pool, yes kids splash. That's what pools are for! We enjoyed our time there - especially the view! Overall, every single person were had contact with at this hotel was professional, friendly and eager to help. The proof is that I can't WAIT to book Ka Lai again!
Liked: Had 2 great stays, thought we would try again since the rebranding, but alas complete disaster. Incoherent decor and furniture since the redesign, still under construction, no resort amenities, 0 bonus for loyalty, tried to give a bottle of prosecco for “anniversary” when it wasn’t our anniversary and we don’t drink wine. Valet staff were pretty good, very chill, room service and cleaning were good on some days but inconsistent. Front desk was weird, tried to upsell room during check in. Total power outage for several hours post-storm, poor communication from front-desk, we ended up staying in a different hotel across the street for the night. At checkout the next day, front desk staff pretended like nothing happened. lol
Liked: We stayed three nights at the LXR hotel in Waikiki. As a Diamond member, I used points for the hotel after finishing work. I wanted to relax for a few days at a nice hotel with my spouse as a mini-vacation.The hotel is in the heart of Waikiki, easy to find, and has a carport for parking. Note that the parking for a personal vehicle is valet only like most hotels in Waikiki. Once we parked, our luggage was taken from the vehicle, and we were given a drink and a seat to wait to be called up to the check-in desk.Once we were checked-in, we were escorted to the elevator and made our way to our room. Once we entered, we found our kitchen that led to the nicely sized bedroom. The kitchen was pretty much a full kitchen with a refrigerator, cooktop, and microwave. The bedroom had a small couch and table that led out to the balcony. The balcony is pretty important in Oahu, and this did not disappoint. We had a view of the ocean and beach from our balcony, and we did not know it at the time, but we also had a perfect view of the Friday night fireworks. The bathroom is very large, but the layout is a bit strange. It is an open shower and tub concept and I am not sure if I liked it or not. At least it had decent water pressure and hot water. The hotel was under construction when we stayed, so the complimentary Diamond breakfast was served on the 6th-floor balcony, but you had to take the stairs from the 8th floor to get there. While not a big deal for us, it might be an issue for people who have difficulty navigating stairs. Once you are at the buffet, there are a lot of items on the buffet, as well as a menu for ordering. We enjoyed our time at the hotel and would definitely go back.

Liked: This was the best hotel Ive stayed at in Hawaii. The rooms were beautiful and clearly had a lot of care put into every detail. The service was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and constantly greeting you and knew most guests by name. They often offered complimentary services like a bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon or ice cream while at the pool. More importantly, they helped problem solve when issues with transportation and delayed flights arose. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying here and would never stay anywhere else in Honolulu myself.
Could be better: Level 6 access
Liked: We really enjoyed our stay. This is the nicest room we’ve experienced in Hawaii, including the Four Seasons properties at Hualalai, Lanai and Maui. We were upgraded from a 1-bedroom suite to a 2-bedroom plus den, located in the southwest corner of the 17th floor with a beautiful view out over the beach and ocean. Breakfast in the restaurant was great - a combination of buffet and made to order items that are all included in the breakfast price. Service was very pleasant and warm. There was some delay with elevator work currently underway, but once the renovation is fully complete, this property will be hard to beat in Waikiki. We thought the location a block off the beach was totally fine - the quality of the room more than made up for not being directly on the sand. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
Liked: I last stayed at the Ka L’ai over Thanksgiving 2024 and was sure that my experience could not have been improved. I was wrong. The recent, and ongoing, renovations have taken what was a very fine hotel to another level. The rooms & completed public areas have been very stylishly refreshed. As before, the beds and linens were very comfortable and the standard of cleanliness was exceptional. My room was silent and restful. The ventilation system worked perfectly. What remained the same was the very professional and courteous staff. Each interaction I had with them was exemplary. This is how 5 Star properties should be run.My Diamond status was recognized before I arrived when I was given an upgrade from a partial ocean view deluxe king to an ocean view deluxe king. The other Diamond perks were extended to me as well without the need to ask.Highly recommended!

Liked: This hotel stay exceeded my expectations. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Attentive to my requests. The location was perfect for me because it was a prime spot to the beach, shops and restaurants but not in the center of the crowds. My room blew my mind. I was upgraded to one of their 1120 sq ft suites with two ocean view lanais. The full kitchen and laundry room were a plus. The breakfast variety was great and the mochi pancakes hit. The hotel was in the last stages of renovations, but it didn’t have an impact on my stay. I didn’t hear noise. This experience set the bar high. I’m looking forward to returning.
Liked: This was a return visit from 10 years ago, and the standard of the hotel was still excellent. The rooms are clean, and having a kitchenette is a bonus, which we made use of and needed. Loved the partial view of the ocean with a balcony, and the bathroom was roomy with everything you need. The Location is great, within walking distance to all local shops and restaurants. The beach is close one block away from the hotel. Enjoyed the pool area. The staff there are very attentive, helpful and accommodating. Service is exceptional.
Could be better: The hotel is going through a renovation, so a few facilities are impacted, but this did not affect our stay. Look forward to coming back when the hotel is completed. There was not much else we didn't like.
Liked: Ka La’i Hotel is worth every penny! Our family stayed in one of their newly renovated suites and had an incredible experience. The rooms are well appointed and quiet, the service is excellent, and it’s in a prime location if you’re staying in bustling Waikiki but still want to be able to relax. Compared to other hotels nearby, Ka La’i is much more serene and feels less crowded or chaotic. All of the staff from valet to check-in to maintenance and housekeeping crew were all incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Doug at check-in gave us a very warm welcome and Lily made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Keanu and the whole valet team were so attentive and always had our car pulled up for us right away. We never felt rushed getting in and out. We traveled with a toddler and small dog, and the hotel was so accommodating! They provided baby toiletries, diaper genie trash can, bed rails, high chair, and even a stroller! For the dog, they provided a plush dog bed and ceramic food and water bowls. Having a full kitchen and in room laundry was so nice. I visited the hotel bar about a decade ago prior to the change in ownership and rebranding, and can confidently say they’ve really outdone themselves. We can’t wait to visit again once all of the renovations are finished. Highly recommend!!

Liked: Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and furnished. Our room had an ocean view and so did the pool. They are currently renovating but it did not interrupt our stay at all.
Liked: We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of August and had a great experience. The staff here is the star of the show. The location and proximity to the beach, yet slightly removed from the chaotic part of Waikiki make it even better. Valet knew us by name, knew we had a habit of being picked up by our local friend, and were just generally warm and helpful. Ms. Saori at the front desk is a sweetheart who genuinely wants to make sure you have a smooth stay.Yes, they're currently undergoing a renovation but we felt our stay was not very impacted. The hotel contacted us months in advance to reassure us they would make our upcoming stay as comfortable as possible, took down our requests, and everything was prepped and ready when we arrived nearly nearly 2 hours before check in time. They had even upgraded us unprompted. We couldn't hear any hammering, drilling, etc. during our stay. There are renderings around the property that show what it will look like once renovations are complete and it looks amazing! Our toddler's crib and a diaper genie were set up when we arrived at the room and there was even a stuffed sting ray for her. Having a washer/dryer and a fridge in the unit was a huge plus with a toddler. We are already looking forward to another stay next summer when we return to Honolulu.
Liked: We’re writing this review because a disappointing experience at another Amex FHR property made us truly appreciate our stay at Ka La‘i. From start to finish, every single staff member was exceptionally gracious and accommodating. They went above and beyond to care for my kids and mother-in-law as if they were part of their own family. This level of warmth and hospitality made all the difference in our trip. We’re already planning another visit to Hawaii in 2026 and can’t wait to stay here again. Thank you, Ka La‘i, for making our experience unforgettable!
Liked: L emplacement près des plages et des magasins. Le personnel sympathique. La vue de notre suite mi mer/ mi ville superbe.
Could be better: Les grosses bouées dans la piscine. Cela devrait être interdit ( sauf bien sûr les bouées pour les tous petits). Cela manquait d explications en français, cela n engage que moi car je ne parle pas anglais. Le bruit de la climatisation ( qui est nécessaire)
Liked: Excellent location, nice rooms. Restaurant a bit limited on the menu and the service, expensive, but a good backup for all the other options around that area. Friendly staff. It was undergoing remodel so hopefully it will be better next time I visit.
Liked: Clean, beautiful view, very close to the beach.

Liked: We stayed at Ka Laʻi for 10 days, and the highlight of our entire experience was the exceptional service provided by Mr. Hiroshi at the front desk. From the very beginning—when I called ahead to confirm our midnight arrival—Mr. Hiroshi’s thoughtful and detailed responses immediately put me at ease. He anticipated our needs in every possible way, ensuring our stay was comfortable and smooth.Upon arrival, we were placed in a quiet corner suite, perfectly suited for our family’s early routine—we wake around 5am and go to bed by 7pm, so avoiding the evening noise was essential. Mr. Hiroshi even arranged sandwiches for both me and my husband, including a specially prepared one for our 6-year-old daughter, along with a bottle of sparkling wine. Pre-cooled waters in the fridge added another touch of care. He truly made us feel at home.Throughout our stay, Mr. Hiroshi continued to go above and beyond—recommending wonderful beaches and family-friendly swimming spots, like Ala Moana Beach Park, where we were lucky enough to spot a seal! Each recommendation felt personal, like a local sharing his own family favorites.Knowing we had a late-night flight, Mr. Hiroshi went the extra mile to secure a late checkout in the same room—an absolute blessing when traveling with a young child. His kindness, attention to detail, and warm hospitality elevated our entire experience. While it’s true that some aspects of the hotel, such as furniture, could use updating—and although we encountered one restaurant staff member, Miss Lani, whose negative attitude disappointed us and who showed her poker face to me and my 6-year-old —Mr. Hiroshi’s professionalism and genuine care more than made up for it. He is the reason Ka Laʻi stands out.I wholeheartedly recommend Ka Laʻi to anyone visiting Honolulu—especially because of Mr. Hiroshi. He is the heart and soul of this property, and we are deeply grateful for all he did to make our stay unforgettable.
Liked: 掃除が行き届いている。 スタッフの対応も親切でフレンドリーで親身になってくれた。
Liked: Best suite we have stayed in especially in the busy city. The suite felt like home. It was spacious, modern, clean, and quiet. We didn’t want to leave!
Liked: Spacious and good location
Could be better: Under construction but didn’t notify me at all, overpriced
Liked: Staff? Amazing. Room? Very nice. Why the 1 star?? If you come to Oahu, on vacation, why wouldn’t you stay at a relaxing oasis like the Ritz Turtle Bay or even the Ko Olina Marriott. This is a great hotel if you are on strictly business or if you are in NYC. Don’t bring your kids here… they will be bored. When paying top dollar on vacation, I just expected a RESORT feel on an island.
Liked: From the time I first booked and communicated with the staff I know I would have an amazing stay but not until my arrival and the 3 subsequent days being there did I truly know what a special hotel this was and it’s people set it apart - kudos to all the team we interacted with - mahalo, and also to the leadership team that provided the training and support that has enabled the team to care so much of the guest experience. First, the hotel is under renovation - and to those reading means little to nothing of the experience, the areas undergoing work our artfully covered and without signage apologizing for the work I would have no idea it’s going on - bravo for the lack of disruption to guests and while the property is already amazing I can’t wait to go back to experience the enhancements. The gentlemen at check in was more than welcoming and went through my Amex FHR benefits for my two rooms (and I feel that I received true value here as opposed to other hotels) and also bell and valet were engaging and I felt my business was truly appreciated. The team at the restaurant and bar was always lovely whether it was breakfast or an amazing mai tai at the bar - thank you! The amenities for local chocolate, to cookies and prosecco on top of complimentary bottled water and our wonderful room upgrade made for a truly memorable stay. I feel terrible but the gentleman working the pool this past Wednesday to Friday was truly remarkable. He took his job so seriously and wanted everyone to have an exceptional time. He embodied true hospitality from setting up pool chairs, to taking orders, to running drinks to you in the pool and greeting every guest that arrived - someone I would definitely love to have the privilege to work with and it seemed like he did all this while training another team member. His aloha spirit will always be remembered, truly appreciated. Lastly, my 1:30 flight was delayed until 11:30pm and they gave me a 9:00pm check out complimentary, I would never expect this but completely wrapped up what I would easily say is my best hotel experience ever. While I don’t hold Hilton in very high regard, this hotel should be a training ground for how all the properties operate and should be rewarded for changing my mind and referrals to others of how I consider the brand. Mahalo team!!
Liked: A great hotel stay with some minor setbacks. The front desk staff and room service were wonderful. They explained the layout of the hotel and helped me with my bags. The room was a bit dated but it sounded like they will be going through a renovation. The water pressure for the shower was great! The only thing I didn’t appreciate was valet. At least the few I interacted with seemed to expect a tip, and I would have preferred to avoid them all together given how uncomfortable they made me feel - self parking was not an option.By the way, do the morning breakfast - it was great.
Liked: Centrally located, great staff and clean rooms! Highly recommend!
Liked: The absolute best. I felt like a rockstar.
Liked: WOW!!!! WOW!!!! WOW!!!! The service at this hotel is the best service I have ever received. My husband and I started our honeymoon here and couldn’t be happier with this hotel. We had issues with our flight and got in 8 hours later than expected. At check in, the lady at the desk said she put assorted sandwiches, fresh fruit, fresh water bottles, etc. in our room since we arrived much later than anticipated. This was so kind! She also said there was a bottle of champagne in our room and when I told her we don’t drink alcohol, she said she’d switch it out for cider. Concierge is 24/7 WHICH IS INCREDIBLE!!!! We had a few early morning excursions and to be able to pick up pool towels and beach chairs on our way out was so convenient. We stayed at a higher star hotel on Kauai that was double the price after this and were let down because the service we received here was so amazing!!!! We booked through Costco and got the breakfast buffet for free every morning. It was phenomenal. Fresh fruit, different hot dishes every morning. Best rice and zucchini bread I’ve ever had! The pool wasn’t crowded and you could get a day bed for free!!! There were barely any kids when we went to the pool and most of the time, we had the pool to ourselves even at peak times! They go around and bring free ice cream at 12 or 1 every day. The lobby is great! They are starting to undergo renovations but the stay was still incredibly nice and didn’t bother us at all. Service is unmatched. Beautiful pool. Beautiful lobby. We would come here again and again and again!!!!! You will not be disappointed if you book here.
Liked: We truly enjoyed our stay here and hope to return someday! The service was flawless from when we checked in to the valet and concierge. The breakfast buffet was incredible and we were delighted to find that they changed up items everyday. The pool though small is great and we were always able to find a chair (bonus: my husband loved when they came around with free ice cream treats!). We also had cocktails and apps one night at the restaurant and they were delicious! Highly recommend for couples--the views are fantastic!
Liked: This hotel is amazing, and the staff is outstanding. Our stay was greatly improved by their service. They were very accommodating, offered us helpful tips, and assisted us in any way they could. They were friendly towards our kids, learned their names, and made them feel genuinely welcome. The rooms were clean, and the view from ours was incredible; we had a combination of mountain, ocean, and city views all in one.

Location, nearby places, and getting around
Hotel address223 Saratoga Road, Honolulu, HI 96815, USHow the location fits a trip
Waikiki Beach and waterfront time
The hotel is set back from the shoreline rather than directly on the beach. The property describes Waikiki Beach as steps away and offers guests a complimentary beach bag with towels through the concierge. This arrangement works well when you want beach access but prefer a quieter, residential-style hotel environment.
Shopping and casual dining nearby
Waikiki Beach Walk provides a useful nearby cluster of cafes, restaurants, boutiques and entertainment. Its directory includes choices ranging from coffee, gelato, musubi and poke to Italian food, steak, seafood and casual American dining. This variety is helpful for families and groups that do not want every meal at the hotel.
Waikiki Aquarium and family outings
Waikiki Aquarium sits beside Kapiolani Park and focuses on Hawaiian and tropical Pacific marine life. It is a manageable outing for families who want something beyond the beach without committing a full day. Check its calendar before visiting because holiday and event closures can differ from regular daily hours.
Diamond Head and wider Honolulu
Diamond Head State Monument, Honolulu Zoo and the Honolulu Museum of Art require more planning than nearby Waikiki stops. Consider a taxi, rideshare service, public transportation or a rental car, and check reservation requirements directly with each attraction before departure.
Restaurants inside the hotel
You can remain on property for breakfast at the open-air Bloom Cafe & Restaurant, modern Hawaiian dining at The Kini Room, drinks and light bites at Muse Lounge, poolside service or in-room dining. Breakfast is not identified as complimentary with a standard stay, so compare your selected rate with the current menu and any dining credits included in your booking.
Getting around
The hotel does not list an airport shuttle. Daniel K. Inouye International Airport identifies taxis, rideshare services, on-demand shuttles, prearranged transportation, public buses and rental cars as available ground-transport options. Once you arrive, much of Waikiki can be explored without a car; arrange separate transportation for Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor and other destinations outside the central resort district.
Parking
Self-parking is not offered. The hotel’s current location page lists secured, covered valet parking with in-and-out privileges and EV charging at $55. Because parking rates and taxes can change, confirm the total for your dates. If you plan to spend most of your trip in Waikiki, compare the valet expense with using taxis, rideshare services or occasional car rentals.
