What a stay at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach Hotel is like
The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach Hotel combines five-star resort facilities with the practical advantages of a residence. Ocean-view accommodations range from compact rooms with kitchenettes to multi-bedroom suites with full kitchens, dining areas and laundry facilities, making the property particularly useful when you want more independence than a conventional luxury hotel room provides.
The setting is urban rather than beachfront. You stay within Waikiki and can reach its beaches, shopping and restaurants on foot, but you should expect a walk to the sand rather than direct beach access. Two elevated infinity pools, extensive on-site dining, a 24-hour fitness center and residential-style layouts make it easy to divide your time between sightseeing and relaxing at the property.
Who it may suit
Well suited to couples seeking ocean views, families who value kitchens and laundry facilities, and groups wanting two to four bedrooms under one reservation. It is also a strong fit for longer stays, when a refrigerator, cooking space and washer or washer/dryer can be more useful than daily reliance on restaurants and laundry services. Travelers who prioritize stepping directly from the hotel onto the beach may prefer a beachfront location.
Location and trip fit
The hotel stands at 383 Kalaimoku Street on the inland side of Waikiki. This places you near the district’s dining, retail and entertainment areas without putting you directly on the shoreline. The location works well if you plan to combine beach visits with shopping, restaurants and trips around Honolulu. If beach proximity is your main priority, factor the walk to the water into your decision and confirm the route that suits your mobility needs.

Rooms at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach Hotel
Room names can hide meaningful differences in views, bed layouts, occupancy, and included extras. Use these sections as a starting point, then verify the exact room description for your dates.
Ocean-view rooms for couples and short stays
The 37–40-square-meter Ocean View and Deluxe Ocean View rooms are the most compact choices supplied, accommodating up to three guests. A kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, seating space and washing machine add flexibility without requiring you to book a full suite. Choose this category when you want residential conveniences and a soaking tub but do not need a separate living room or dining area.
Grand and corner rooms with more living space
Grand Ocean View and corner-room variants expand the layout to roughly 46–56 square meters, with capacity for up to three. The Grand room adds a living area, while corner options emphasize broader city-and-ocean perspectives and a dining area. These categories can suit a couple planning a longer stay or three travelers who want more usable daytime space than the entry room types provide.
One-bedroom and corner suites
One-bedroom choices run from approximately 58 to 76 square meters in the supplied inventory and generally accommodate up to four. Full kitchens, dining and sitting areas, sofa beds and laundry facilities make these more practical for families or couples who want separation between sleeping and relaxing. Grand variants provide the most space in this group, while corner suites emphasize wraparound city-and-ocean outlooks.
Two-bedroom ocean-view suites for families and friends
The supplied two-bedroom suites range from about 94 to 117 square meters and accommodate up to six, depending on the selected configuration. Separate bedrooms, private bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining space, dishwasher, washing machine and balcony support shared trips without forcing everyone into one sleeping area. Compare the exact bed arrangement carefully, as Deluxe, Grand and Premier labels do not necessarily indicate the same bedding.
Three-bedroom suites for larger groups
Three-bedroom categories offer approximately 140–149 square meters in the standard supplied range and accommodate up to eight. They combine balconies and ocean views with separate bedrooms, private bathrooms, a full kitchen and dining area. These layouts are particularly useful for multigenerational families, although you should compare bathroom counts, bed types and accessibility requirements before selecting a specific variant.
Signature four-bedroom residence
The supplied Signature Suite spans 278 square meters and accommodates up to nine, with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a balcony, kitchen, dining and sitting areas, and washer/dryer. It offers the greatest separation for a large family or group in the listed inventory. Confirm the current maximum occupancy and exact sleeping configuration because published descriptions from different booking channels may vary.
Two-bedroom penthouse
The penthouse option is configured for up to four guests with two king beds, ocean views, a balcony, separate sitting space, a kitchen and three bathrooms. It suits two couples or a small family prioritizing privacy and a premium residential layout. The supplied listing does not state its floor area, so compare the current floor plan and view details before committing.
The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach Hotel amenities and practical features
Two distinct infinity-pool settings
The property has a heated resort infinity pool open to all ages and a separate adult infinity pool for guests aged 18 and older. The resort pool includes a rock slide, while the adult pool has two hot tubs. Cabanas are available, but you should verify reservation requirements and charges. Pool and service hours can change.
Dining from casual provisions to omakase
On-site choices currently include Solera, the open-air Quiora, reservation-required Sushi Sho, Dean & DeLuca and Island Country Markets, along with room service. This range lets you alternate between restaurant meals, quick provisions and meals prepared in your accommodation. Breakfast is available through dining venues, but it should not be assumed to be included in every room rate.
Fitness, spa and downtime
The fitness center is listed as open 24 hours with cardiovascular and strength equipment, free weights and basic yoga equipment. The supplied hotel information also identifies a spa offering customized treatments, plus a yoga room and movie theater. Verify spa appointments, class schedules and access conditions for your stay.
Residential conveniences
Kitchens or kitchenettes and in-room laundry are central advantages here rather than incidental extras. They can simplify breakfasts, children’s meals, extended stays and post-beach laundry. Equipment differs by category: larger suites are more likely to include full kitchens and dishwashers, while smaller rooms may have kitchenettes.
Family and accessibility considerations
Family rooms, a resort pool, sofa-bed configurations and multi-bedroom suites support trips with children. The property also lists wheelchair access, elevators, accessible parking, grab rails and selected accessible room features. Accessible inventory may be limited by room type, so request the required configuration during booking and confirm details directly rather than relying on a general accessibility label.
Connectivity and guest services
Free Wi-Fi is listed, alongside a 24-hour front desk, concierge, business center, luggage storage and daily housekeeping. A minimarket and grocery-delivery option can complement the in-room kitchens. Confirm any conditions or charges attached to grocery delivery and other requested services.

The tradeoffs are important: one guest felt the property was farther from the beach than expected, another preferred earlier housekeeping, and the broader sentiment data notes occasional amenity issues. The sample also includes one serious allegation of bedbugs in one of three booked rooms; this appears isolated within the supplied reviews but should not be omitted from the overall picture.

Liked:
Liked: Amazing! What a fantastic stay. Service was impeccable. Every employee is service oriented and smiling. The 2 bedroom deluxe ocean view suite exceeded expectations: size, comfort, amenities! Hotel is well located and walkable to shopping, restaurants and beach. Can’t wait to come again!
Liked: Amazing service and facilities for kids! Great attention to detail: The pack and play arrived quickly with comfy sheets and kids bath amenities, water bottles for all of us (not just adults), and they even gave us a diaper genie to dispose of used diapers. Pool was never too crowded and had a great slide for the little ones. The in-room washer dryer and fridge with freezer was so helpful. Oh and our ocean view was fantastic. All and all great stay!
Liked: 部屋が綺麗で新しい。
Liked: Had a wonderful time. Food was good. Service was good. We had three rooms but one room had bedbugs. For a hotel that charges 7000 a week per room, this should have never happened. I would think twice staying here again.
Liked: Køkkenet
Liked: 部屋の清掃が丁寧、コーヒーをよく飲むので、補充が多めで嬉しかったです。
Could be better: 清掃時間が3時過ぎで、個人的には早いほうが良かった。
Liked: Beautiful well designed property with good restaurants and great service
Could be better: Location is far from the beach and in a neighborhood that is not fully safe or desirable.
Liked: The staff was incredibly kind and the location was good. I also enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant.
Could be better: Easy access to the beach and other areas.
Liked: Stayed here 2 weeks one of the best hotels ever, started with 2 grand ocean view 1 bedroom suites come complete with living room kitchen, bedroom and kitchen including washer & dryer 2 hobs sink with microwave & oven combi, had to move due to unscheduled building work but offered options including a 2 bed room signiture suite worth about 3k a night gobsmacked. Thank you to Mana for all her help and genuinely wanrting to look after us
Liked: This is an outstanding hotel with excellent service. We stayed just 2 nights before moving on to another island. Our room was quite large with a washer and dryer which was nice as we were on a long trip. The food at breakfast and dinner was exceptional but the service from the valet to the front desk to the pool and the restaurant was absolutely perfect.
Liked: Made my stay feel special and personal
Could be better: If they throw away a luffa please give me a new one
Liked: Excellent location, extremely convenient. Very kind staff, everyone was really eager to support with a smile. Room was spacious and clean.
Could be better: It’s a decent stay but totally overpriced for what it offers. The facilities need a refurbishment to justify this level of pricing - the quality is not representative of what someone would expect from Ritz-Carlton. It was also disappointing to see such a high parking cost for hotel guests.
Liked: 立地やロケーションやスタッフの皆さんはすごく良かった
Could be better: アメニティの補充が全くされていなかったこと 4人で行きましたが最初から3人分しかなく綿棒とか持参のもの使いました
Liked: Went here past November and I felt like I got the true Ritz Carlton experience from arrival to checkout. The staff was tremendous, room was amazing, and the distance to the beach is just a short walk away. With so many stores nearby, the walk didn't feel long at all. Looking forward to returning the next time I find myself in Waikiki.
Liked: Do tamanho e da qualidade do quarto e da casa de banho. De ter uma máquina de lavar e secar roupa. Da localização.
Could be better: Do preço. ;(
Liked: Rooms and service was great.
Could be better: The food absolutely not up to standard, very disappointing. No options for lunch whatsoever.
Liked: We had to check into this hotel for 20 days because we were “in between homes” and they made us feel relaxed and welcomed during a difficult transition. They really went out of their way to help us out. The suites are spacious and ours had two full bathes. Our lanai was huge and faced the ocean and the Friday night fireworks. There are two pools one for the family and one for adults only. We used it as much as we could. The location is great too. Very walkable to restaurants and shopping. There was a great little market underneath too that allowed us to get cheap delicious dinners and ingredients to cook in our little kitchen. The hotel even provided us with a rice cooker upon request. We really liked that they had an in-unit washer dryer too. Really helped us during our stay. We enjoyed talking to all of the folks that worked there. Even the pianist at the restaurant chatted us up. He was funny and kind. My only critique is that the restaurants on site and mandatory valet parking is a bit insanely expensive. After 20 days it really got expensive to park 2 cars. Inside the room, we felt they could have offered more options on the TV besides Netflix but then again it is fine for a short stay. The shower was the one thing I kind of didn’t understand. It was one of those wet rooms and the shower grout kind of grossed me out at times but they always came and cleaned as much as we requested. They are also pet friendly so we really really appreciated it. Special thanks to Noe and Tyler. We love you guys and will definitely recommend you to anyone that is looking for a hotel in Waikiki.
Liked: 清潔感あるところとお部屋のアメニティが良かったです
Could be better: シャワーの水圧が弱い
Liked: Not a lot. It was like an over paid airBnB, not a ritz-carlton.
Could be better: Extremely loud, noisy location. The dryer was broken. The ground floor is like a wind tunnel, stormy, unpleasant to get out of the car regardless the crew. The handlers in the bathroom has cut my forehead, they are so sharp. The aircon on the corridors is so cold, like being in a freezer. Luckily we could switch it off in our room.Comparing to other Ritz’s this one is a disappointment.
Liked: This stay was part of our year-end vacation. There were two families with 8 of us travel together. We had a very good and enjoyable stay at this property. The facility and service are both top notch.Location of this property is walking distance to a variety of shopping centers and restaurants. We took advantage of the grocery credit given to stock up enough for breakfast for the duration of our stay.Special thanks to the front desk manager Sarah Lorenzo. Initially 8 of us were given 5 rooms on 3 different floors. Sarah was able to help us optimize our room counts down to 4 (but with a larger suite) on 2 different floors. In the process, she was able to help us cancel one room and adjust another room (from 1-bedroom to 2-bedroom). This made our stay much more comfortable.
Liked: This property is more like a glorified Marriott than a 5 star hotel. First and foremost it is packed with children so if you are looking for a couple's retreat, this isn't it. The AC in our suite didn't work properly and the "stand alone bathtub" only fit someone 5 ft 8 or shorter, it was laughably small and should not be marketed as an amenity. Room service was nothing special, the restaurant was expensive and average. Worst of all is the noise from outside. Locals "cruise" the street in front of the ocean facing units and the "sound proofed" windows are not that at all, we heard the revving of engines and loud music 21 floors above until the wee hours.
Liked: スタッフの方も親切で安心して滞在できました。
Could be better: アップグレードしていただけたのですが、朝日も夕日も微妙に見えない壁があるテラスだったのだけが非常に惜しかったなと思いました。 また、ボディソープのノズルが壊れていたのか使えなかったので、惜しい〜という感じでした。
Guest reviews are supplied by the booking provider. We summarize recurring themes to make stays easier to compare.
Location, nearby places, and getting around
Hotel address383 Kalaimoku Street, Honolulu, HI 96815, USHow the location fits a trip
Waikiki Beach and waterfront time
Waikiki Beach is accessible from the surrounding district, but this is not a beachfront hotel. You trade immediate sand access for elevated ocean views, larger residential layouts and substantial on-site facilities. Carry what you need for the beach rather than expecting a private hotel beach setup.
Shopping and casual dining around Waikiki
Waikiki Beach Walk brings together boutiques, cafes and restaurants in a pedestrian-oriented district near the waterfront. Its dining directory includes quick options as well as full-service restaurants, giving you alternatives when you do not want to cook or dine at the hotel. Business hours and restaurant lineups can change, so check your preferred venue before setting out.
Diamond Head, parks and family attractions
The hotel positions you for outings to Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park, Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium. These are useful choices when you want to add scenery, walking or family activities to a resort-focused stay. Entry arrangements and transportation requirements vary by attraction, so plan popular excursions in advance.
Public transportation for wider Honolulu
Oahu’s TheBus network connects Waikiki with other parts of Honolulu and a range of visitor destinations. It can reduce your reliance on valet parking, although travel times and transfers may be less convenient than a taxi or rental car. Consult the current Waikiki visitor guide and route schedules rather than relying on an older itinerary.
Getting around
The hotel does not list a complimentary airport shuttle. Taxis, shared transfers, private cars and rental vehicles are possible from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. For trips around Waikiki and Honolulu, you can also consider Oahu’s public bus network; current routes and schedules should be checked shortly before travel. A car may be useful for island-wide touring, but the valet charge means you may prefer short-term rentals or organized transportation if most of your plans are within Waikiki.
Parking
The property currently lists valet parking at $60 per day, with valet as the resort’s on-site parking option. Electric-vehicle charging is also listed, subject to availability. Because parking charges can materially affect a multi-night stay, confirm the fee, vehicle restrictions and charging arrangements for your dates before renting a car.
