A fun, spacious studio with view (fireworks only on Fridays) along the Alawai Canal.8/10

Liked: Conveniently located, reasonable charge for parking, enjoyed burger from Forty Niners cafe in the lobby area. Unit roomy and comfortable, with good sized frig (love the retro look of appliances). The lanai added a special appeal, and I love the interactive bathroom mirror!

Could be better: Initially, I received and read the instructions that included the passcode, and meant to screenshot it, but I couldn’t find it again as I stood in front of the door. I was able to call Booking.com customer service and was saved by an efficient rep. Also, just to mention (since we didn’t care), there was no champagne or snacks waiting for us, as promised in their welcome note.

Great value for money, a compact room with everything you need. Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Opportunities9/10

Liked: Convenience, facilities, and great communication from the owner. There were additional beach towels provided, which was nice as we spent lots of time swimming and snorkelling.

Could be better: 1. The street noice, apparently it’s common in Honolulu due to the building sound proofing and traffic echoing. 2. Late check in 3pm can be a big issue as most international flights arrive early in the morning. 3. Expensive parking fee: $45 per day plus tax.
